This is my first post for the world to see. I have been a life time sports enthusiast.Have played and coached enough sports at a competitive level to offer an opinion. Some may like it,some not. As the title says, it is The Way I See It.
A couple of days ago at the World Junior Hockey Championships Canada defeated Denmark 14-0. A lot of people were pissed that the score got run up. However, IIHF uses goals for and against as a tie breaker should one occur. Get over it, been like that for years. If you look beyond the score, I think the Danes where the beneficiaries of that game. They now know what they need to do to be successful. This is a process for them. They are not expected to win a medal, so the only pressure they should feel is none. They start the tournament with two powerhouses Canada and Russia. After that the competition is not as challenging. Last night, less than 24 hours after playing Canada, they lost 4-0 to Russia, but showed a lot of character and compete level against a superior opponent. As the great golfer Bobby Jones said” I learn more from losing, than winning”. It will be interesting to watch this team as the tournament progresses and how they compete. Their goal is not to get relegated and stay up in main pool.
